Feeling Lost at the Start? That’s Totally Normal

Starting a new training program can feel like a mix of excitement, nerves, and doubt. One part of you is ready to make a change. The other part might be wondering, What if I can’t keep up? or Am I doing this right?

If you’re feeling that way, you’re not alone. In fact, you’re exactly where you should be.

Here’s what we want you to know during your first few months of training with us.

1. Skill takes time. Everyone starts at the beginning

Nobody walks into the gym knowing exactly what to do. Every lifter, runner, and athlete you see began feeling unsure, awkward, and out of their depth.

That’s why showing up consistently is more important than doing it perfectly. Think of training like learning a new language. It might feel clunky at first, but with regular practice, things start to click. Keep showing up, and you will get better.

2. Soreness can be part of the process, but it is not the goal

It is common to feel sore when your body is adapting to something new. A bit of muscle ache can feel satisfying, but chasing that feeling is not necessary for progress.

If you are so sore that normal daily tasks become difficult, that is a sign to pull back and focus on recovery. Light movement like walking or stretching can help blood flow and ease discomfort.

The goal is not to crush yourself. The goal is to train smart and recover well, so you can keep showing up.

3. It is okay to feel like you do not know what you are doing

Starting anything new can feel overwhelming. That uncertainty is normal.

Take your time. Go at your own pace. Ask questions. Our coaches are here to support you, and chances are, you are doing better than you think.

4. The people who inspire you were once in your shoes

That person who moves with confidence? They felt unsure once too.

What changed was that they kept turning up. They asked for help. They leaned into the process and trusted their coaches and their community. Over time, the pieces came together.

That will happen for you too.

Final Thoughts

Starting something new can feel uncomfortable. But that discomfort is part of growth.

Skill comes with time and consistency. Soreness is just feedback, not a badge of honour. Feeling uncertain is normal. And asking for help is a strength.

Keep showing up. Keep asking questions. Keep learning.

You are not just starting a training plan. You are starting something that could change your life.
